so i’m not sure i would recommend climbing the eiffel tower in the rain—i mean, if you can afford to wait for a dryer day, i would certainly suggest that (clearly, we didn’t have much of a choice lol)—but what i do recommend is going all the way to the tippy top to watch the sun set. we didn’t quite get the whole shebang, with the clouds in the sky and all. but it was still pretty cool to watch the city light up as it got darker and darker,

oh man, and we got to see the changing of the guard! (which was pretty freaking sweet!) i wish i’d gotten some better pictures of the marching band that came around, ESPECIALLY since the song they played. it was too great. take a guess. ok close enough, it was Sinatra’s New York, New York! how fabulous is that?

oh yes, and this is the lovely little town (or should i say, neighborhood) we got lost in. as you can see, there is hardly anything open. because they are all houses.
